Congratulations to the Writing Program on receiving the 2013 Award For Innovation from the Council on Basic Writing for English 101A. Supported by the national organization of College Composition and Communication (CCC), the award recognizes writing programs that demonstrate improvement in educational processes for basic writers through advances in assessment, placement, pedagogy, or curriculum. The Council of Basic Writing distinguished the adapted studio model in English 101A as a creative innovation in curriculum and pedagogy. Dr. Anne-Marie Hall with the help of Dr. Erec Toso amassed five years of data illustrating impressive educational benefits for University of Arizona students in English 101A. On March 16, 2013 at the annual Conference on College Composition and Communication, Director Amy Kimme-Hea and Assistant Director Aimee Mapes will accept the award on behalf of the program.
